"It was the beginning of COVID when I was into K-Drama and K-Pop, and following celebs like anyone else. One day when I was scrolling Instagram a user called me disguising himself as Ji Chang Wook a K-drama star, he even shared with me his ID to take me under his trust. Thankfully, I was aware of the cybercrime and fake IDs back then, which prevented me from getting scammed." said an Instagram user.

She also added, 'The ID looked so real that I almost believed him, so just to confirm I asked him to message from his official ID and he denied".

A common civilian wasn't aware back then of Artificial Intelligence (AI), which can cost them almost their life savings, and how AI is becoming more useful to criminals rather than a civilian. AI-related cybercrime is getting higher than ever, and getting normal day by day. You get a call and are asked to transfer money by using multiple scenarios which look so real with the advanced technology of Al, that helps manipulation without a hitch.

This is what happened with a French woman. Recently, she got scammed by using AI, where she was hoaxed by AI Brad Pitt and lost her money around €830,000 (854,511 USD).

The victim's name is Anne, a 53-year-old woman. The scammer persuaded Anne, stating he has kidney cancer and needs financial help. He convinced her that the assistance was required due to frozen bank accounts following the divorce proceeding between him and Angelina Jolie. He shared photos of him in the hospital bed with all the needles and machines.

She figured it out when the relationship between Hollywood actor Brad Pitt and jewellery designer Ines De Ramon got highlighted. Upon realizing she has been tricked into a scam, she filed a report and police investigation.

The issue highlighted again the danger of AI and gave a reminder, that online scams have limitless ability and are getting stronger and smarter.
